WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Emmy grew up in Malaysia and loved the traditional Malaysian street food. She moved to England in 2012 and brought her passion with her, wanting to bring a taste of Malaysia to the UK. Wau is everything Emmy wanted it to be: a relaxed, friendly and fun place for people to enjoy freshly prepared Malaysian food cooked in the open kitchen.
VISIT US AND CHECK IN!
We want you to help us spread the word! ‘Check in’ to Wau on Facebook and share your experience with your friends.
‘Wau’ is a type of Malaysian handmade moon kite with intricate decorations. It has become one of Malaysia’s National symbols, not often found in the UK - we thought this was the perfect name for our Malaysian restaurant.
Have you spotted our rickshaw?
We wanted to bring something different to Newbury and our traditional Malaysian Rickshaw is certainly that! We’ll be handing out our menus and collecting people and transporting them to our restaurant – so keep an eye out for it, and don’t forget to share a pic on social media!
We are proud to be part of the BDZ group of businesses, established in Newbury for over 35 years.
